Taking On The Titans

It was another beautiful Monday evening in Moraga as the Gaels happily hosted Cal State Fullerton on the SMC Turf Field. Coming off of last week's tough encounters, the Gaels had been hard at practice and felt more equipped to take on the Titans. 

Midfielder Chris Contini '29 came full force on the field with efficient communication that allowed him to move swiftly through the line of Titan defense. This well ordered approach resulted in many goals being successfully scored. Jacob Salonga '29 was another stand-out player with his strategic ball handling that almost appeared seamless to any outside viewer. The Titans did end up slipping a few times through our Gael defense, having many of their score attempts land triumphantly. But, by the end of the fourth quarter, the Gael offense went wild and finished out the game with a 13-6 win. 

Overall, the Gaels feel very proud of their efforts, especially when last week's back to back losses were dismaying. The only skill they will be focusing on moving forward for the rest of their season is defense. But for now, the Gaels will be enjoying their well-earned Spring Break. Their next match will be away against UC Davis on Sunday, April 12th at 12PM. Be sure to wish them the best of luck! Go Gaels.
